Position Title: Mechanical Engineer

Brief Description of Job Duties: 

Perform engineering duties to plan and design machines to package shipments for online retailer, to separate the packages by weight, and to automatically generate mailing labels. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of these machines. Coordinate with IT personnel to link shipping data from the e-commerce IT system to the packaging and labeling functions of the designed machinery. Confer with managerial, IT, or warehouse personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and take remedial actions. Modify design to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Study the employer’s processes to maximize the efficiency of equipment applications, including equipment placement. Establish or coordinate the maintenance or safety procedures, service schedule, or supply of materials required to maintain machines or equipment in the prescribed condition.
